The Triple Crown of Indiana State Highpower Championships consist of a Championship shot on a 100 yard Reduced course of fire at Fall Creek Valley Conservation Club, a Championship shot on a 300 Yard Reduced course of fire at Wildcat Valley Rifle & Pistol Club, and a 2-day aggregate Championship shot on a full 600 yard course of fire at Camp Atterbury.
The 100 Yard Reduced Championship at Fall Creek was again the first in the series this year, fired on August 29, 2026.
Competition was tough, but it was a beautiful day, though typical for this year, it was hot. 12 shooters showed up, and Geoff Branson took top honors by a wide margin, firing a 785-30X to be crowned the State Champion. Second place went to Mike King with a 777-25X, and third place went to Jim Jackson with a 770-22X. Special accomplishment goes to Dave Schnelle, for setting an NRA National Record for the Grand Senior class (shooters over 70).

The 300 Yard Reduced Championship at Wildcat Valley was the second in the series this year, fired on September 5, 2026.
It was another nice, but really hot and humid day on Saturday. 16 shooters showed up, and Andrew Beaver took top honors with a 777-32X, out scoring Mike King by just 5Xs. Mike was second with a 777-27X, and Dave Schnelle came in third with a 765-16X. Sydney Beiswanger was both High Junior and High Woman with a 758-15X.

The 600 Yard Full Course Championship at Camp Atterbury was held on September 12 and 13, 2026, and was the final leg of the Triple Crown. The weather was once again hot and humid, with lots of clouds and a chance of rain on Saturday. Sunday was sunny all day. 29 shooters showed up to compete.
Day one of this Championship is also the “ISRPA President’s Cup” where the top 5 shooters are recognized by ISRPA President Charlie Hiltunen. Winner of day one, and first place in the President’s Cup was Mark Richard with a day one total of 784-27X. 2nd place goes to Mike King, 783-33X, 3rd place was Jeannie Redicker, 775-27X, 4th place was Paul Ellersieck, 772-19X, and 5th place was Dave Schnelle, 771-16X. Winners are awarded a patch, and a year tab for multiple year winners.

Day two started with nicer weather, but by the end of the day turned hot and humid again. Emma Branson showed all shooters how to shoot offhand, with a great 192-4X. At the end of the day, Geoff Branson was Day 2 winner with a 787-25X
Overall winner for the two day event was Mike King with a 2-day aggregate score of 1559-56X. This was Mike’s 4th win in a row, and 5th time over the years. Mike will add another nameplate to the Dan Ireland Memorial Trophy, and wins the CMP Gold Medal.
Second place, winning the CMP Silver Medal, and 1st Master Class is Geoff Branson with a 1554-54X. Third place, winning the CMP Bronze Medal, was Andrew Beaver with a 1539-63X. First Junior at the match was Logan Becker with a 1532-36X. Logan’s name will go on the Peter Faatz Memorial Trophy for High Junior at this match. 1st Expert Class was Dan Weigel with a 1489-29X, 1st Sharpshooter Class was Curt Hullinger with a 1435-18X. High woman was Emma Branson with a 1493-43X, High Senior was Mark Walters with a 1535-41X, and High Grand Senior was Dave Schnelle with a 1537-35X

Finally, to recognize the shooters who were able to compete in all 3 legs of the Championships, we also have a trophy for Grand Aggregate winner. This year’s Grand Aggregate State Champion is Mike King with score of 3113-108X. This is Mike’s 3rd win in a row, and 4th overall.
