Camp Atterbury Base Access Procedures

  • Registration for ISRPA matches will be cut off on Wednesday prior to the match. Please register early.
  • You must provide us with the names of everyone wanting access to the base, including parents, spectators, and juniors. Your names will be listed on an “Alpha Roster” at the front gate.
  • When registering, you’ll receive an email with a Liability Form attached. That form MUST be completed, signed, and returned to Dave Schnelle at schnelle1@aol.com, no later than Wednesday night prior to the match. These forms will be submitted to Atterbury first thing Thursday morning. You can submit a scanned document, or a clear, straight-on picture of the completed form. This form must be supplied for all attendees, including spectators and juniors.
  • As always, any vehicle coming in might be subject to search. With the heightened security level, there may be more searches.
  • Since you’re coming to a match, you’ll likely have a firearm or two in the vehicle, and possibly a personal protection handgun.  Below is the procedure supplied by Atterbury security.
    • Any personal defense firearms that may be brought in by personnel are not considered contraband at this time due to Indiana Constitutional Carry Law. The heightened threat level of FPCON B+ on a Federal Installation also does not prohibit an individual from transporting a firearm onto installation.  The only regulation is that the personally owned firearm is not authorized to be open carried or concealed carried on your person while on Post.  It must remain in a secure area in the vehicle and suggested to be in a cleared status.  Vehicles securing firearms should be locked at all times.  As all patrons entering Post are subject to search, a friendly reminder is that any persons transporting weapons or ammo being searched by Security Forces should let staff know they do have firearms and ammo and express the location and status of the items to the staff.  It is advised that they do not physically remove the firearms to “show” staff the firearms nor is it authorized to clear firearms at the gate.  Patrons should follow all direction from security staff on this matter. Failure to do so may result in an incident report and denied access.
  • We should be prepared for possible delays at the front gate, so don’t show up at the last minute.
  • We continue to encourage each regular participant to take a Friday afternoon off work and come early enough to get registered in the security system so your license can be scanned at entry. Registration at the Welcome Center (across the street from the main gate) is typically open until 3:00 PM.  If we hear that there is a second shift person on duty that Friday, we’ll try to let people know, which means registration at the front gate would be open until 10:00 PM.
  • It should be noted that registrations in the system used to be valid until the drivers license expired.  Going forward, registrations will only be valid for something shorter, like 12 months.  This means you may experience an expiration of your registration, which will require a renewal.  This will not limit access if you are on the Alpha Roster, it will just require an update of your registration.
